Barbara and Gene Graves have always stayed busy. That's why they couldn't stay retired.
"We wanted to do some other things and it seems like we're actually busier than we used to be," Barbara said.
They love being around horses and the western way of life. So they turned that love into a passion and a new career of designing shirts.
"There was just a missing area in the shirt business and this was the part we strived to fulfill," Gene explained.
They bought the Barranada Shirt Company and made it their own. Barranada meaning bar none you won't find a better shirt. Each color and fabric are handpicked by Barbara and Gene
and then made in New York. The couple gets the completed shirts back and sells them across the country.
"We wanted to put our stamp on these shirts as far as picking out the fabrics and we have some other ideas that we want to add to this."
From the office to the arena, Barranada shirts make a good fashion statement for any occasion.
"You can wear these shirts with a tie, go to church, whatever, come home, take the tie off and go get on a horse or a tractor. And that's the thing about these shirts. They do up so well and its the high quality texture fabric."
Retirement may not come easy to Barbara and Gene but they found the perfect fit to a growing business.
